 I think it caught everyone by surprise and still does, I was under 30 when I purchased mine as it suited me perfectly and still does now. There was/is the grandpa stigma attached to it and luckily enough I don't give a fck what others think! Try and add some qualification to your comment; better for who and under what circumstances? That's what the grown-ups are actually discussing in this thread.

That's one reason why I want it. I can't be bothered worrying about getting pulled over all the time by the popo and my right foot can be a little jerky, haha, so it would just attract more attention. And I figure it's not going to be 'innapropriate' driving out to clients where the XR6T may not suit in a few years.

Funny stuff on this topic.

A good slippy is worth about two large and upwards.

The Std LSD in these cars is very very limited. It's not a locker. It's a very limited slip diff.

I wonder how many are driving round not knowing it is not locking the other wheel after a little bit of punishment.

And the irony of life if you punish the single leg it locks up

Cracks me up

LSD= For Skids and losing your licence

Single Spinner= Old people that like to cruise and keep hold of their licence

Simple?

Fixed :sungum:

Unless you have a G6ET with 500rwkw and love doing massive mega peggers down the freeway :P

When I broke my spool in my old Falcon I could light a single tyre at 100km/h and that was with only 165rwkw.

The single spinner does hook up better and safer in the wet.

It is a lot quiter and less prone to driveline SHUNT. Something the market the G is set at they wont tollerate.

And causes a heap less understeer.

The single also locks up both wheels when abused.

In saying that the semi locker is great in the dry. The truetrac is a lot quiter when fitted with a new superpro comfort diff bush.

The Kaaz is noisey to begin, then goes quite for a while and gets very noisey again with age.

sh*t I'd hate to own an FG with an LSD if the shunting is WORSE...

Interesting note on the single pegger lighting both when abused, I had thought my car pegged both quite a few times of late and I took it out just before and yep, abusing it spins both.

I might just hold off on the LSD now, I keep forgetting I bought the G6 because it was a little more sensible and somewhat upmarket whilst still hauling like a shower of sh*t when provoked.

At least you can confidently buy a thrashed second hand G6ET and pretty much know that the driveline is still good. Spinning one wheel does not do much damage. But I would be careful buying a thrashed Xr6 with a LSD.
