Big Mitch Member 17 Member For: 13y 3m Posted 16/04/12 01:11 AM Share Posted 16/04/12 01:11 AM So I just called up Ford at Capalaba, and they want $360 to change my engine oil and filter, a check over of the car, and to put the computer on it to see if there's any codes. What a f*cking rip job. What are they actually supposed to do on the 15,000km service, and where else could I get it done at a reasonable price, maintaining my new car warranty in Brisbane?Cheers,Mitch. But if you do go elsewhere you won't get software updates or anything replaced/repaired under a campaign that's not a safety recall.

I thought this was a good idea as I didnt need to drop the car off anywhere. He really didnt check over things very throughly, didnt take off the wheels to check the brakes etc. Then he tried to put the wrong oil in the car as he didnt have correct one in this van, after I had a argument with him he went and bought the right oil. Took mine to ford for the 30,000 service.Yes the ford service is expensive but at least they check everything properly, put the right oil in, check codes and re-tension the manifold bolts.

I had a slight leak from the ZF sump and they quoted me $1250 to fix it. Told me they had checked the oil level so I asked them to show me the dipstick so I could keep an eye on it, that was the first and only time they have seen the car. Simon_h6 Donating Members 56 Member For: 13y 9m 12d Posted 16/04/12 04:31 AM Share Posted 16/04/12 04:31 AM (edited) Panda,You have got me thinking after your post, I never actually saw them doing the service so I am just assuming that they did put in the correct oil, checked the manifold bolts etc. Being Ford and they do the same cars day after day you would hope they know what they are doing! My friend knows a few of the service guys and told them I was coming down so hopefully they did everything correctly.Maybe getting a onsite mechanic is a better option at least you can watch them the whole time to make sure they are not stuffing it up.
