I ran 500 watts rms through it for a couple of months and it still didnt die. How much power you running through it Panda?

1600dave Donating Members 872 Member For: 14y 2m Posted 17/04/12 01:10 PM Share Posted 17/04/12 01:10 PM Is that one of those ebay fibreglass corner sub boxes? Whats the quality and volume like? I enquired when they used to be flogging them off alot, again no useful info from them about the box.I want to improve the bass, but keep the boot useable too, something like a corner box would be good, if they work well. It doesnt sit all the way back to the seats due to the minimum size of the sub is 320mm, and there aint that much space provided. The amps are on the side of the box for easy removal if I wanna take it down the track or something. I'm yet to make a beauty board to hide all the ugly stuff, but this is the best I could do with the space I had. The box is to Alpine recommended specs and really does sound amazing. I dont know how well you could get two type r's to fit with the proper box.My advice, just wing it bro. If you can make something with 3.8 cubic feet with a port displacement of .48 cubic feet, would be perfect, but its gonna take alot of space. Just make a box as big as you can with the space you're willing to sacrifice and go from there.Last weekend I made a 3.9ft^3 box tuned @ 32hz with 43.5 in^2 port area last weekend. it was made out of 18 MDF and its about as big as you can go. It could be an inch higher and maybe an inch deeper but that's it as it wouldnt fit in the hole (boot opening). Sounds good with 2 type r's running off a pdx m12 amp. Before this I had one of the new type R's in the alpine box running on this amp, it sounded great but didnt last long getting over twice its rated power Next thing im doing is trying 2 IDmax 12" subs in 1.5ft^3 sealed boxes I need more money :(

Might be because it faces towards the parcel shelf or because I only have about 50rms going too it?
