FordXR6Turbo DIY - AirCon Filter Tray

Here's one from the old fella deeks ( :roflmbo: ). Some of you may not know it - but there is a air-conditioning filter tray just behind the glove box. This is the example with the BA. It's important to clean out the gunk in there regularly - I used to have BA where it got so clogged up - on a humid day it started to condense the cool air and water started dripping out like a small water fall. Ruined my carpets - nothing that could be dried out - but it was all preventable. Anyways - thanks to daztbo for showing us again here :beerchug:

Brilliant videos Gaz,

Cleaned the Air Conditioning Mesh Filter today:

Note: Slide Mesh Filter to the left (Open position) then remove, assemble in reverse order.

Think that's gained at least 20 RWKW.

My Positive Crankcase Ventilation System fittings were fine:

You can get a filter element to replace that tray. It's a paper panel filter a bit like the panel filter for the engine. It will catch all the dust rather than just the large particles.

Ryco do em- RYCO Part No: RCA100P, this is the paper one, RCA100C - this one is similar with a layer of carbon to help remove chemical stink, like following a diesel vehicle, or a high flowed cat vehicle...

:roflmbo: apparently its a very common issue - need to buy a can of silicon spray (has to be pure silicon, not that WD40 stuff that smells) and spray it in the window rails through the straw that comes with the spray can. I'll hopefully have some vids up soon of many of the things we did on the DIY day to make it more obvious how to do things
