Just wondering how low people have gone with their cars which is used to tow their boat.

I currently have a bf typhoon that I is on ultra lows or super lows ( dunno). buts its damn low and I scrape on a sh*t tonne of things. Unfortunately I bought it like this ( knowing I would want to tow the boat) but the deal was too good to pass up.

Now im assuming that putting a towbar on my car with the current suspension setup just simply would not work due to ride height of the car causing issues as it is.

In saying this I still like a lowered look.

Just wondering how low people have gone with their vehicle while still being able to tow/launch a ski boat safely

I've got the GT lowered springs in the rear of mine so not that low at all, and just towing a 6x4 the drawbar scrapes on some driveways.

How heavy is the boat, and do you take it to places where the car may actually need to enter the water a bit? might struggle for traction on some steeper or dirty ramps.

dont have the weight of car off hand but its just your standard ski boat, inboard motor> pretty heavy!

and yes car would have to enter water/ go along dirt tracks...but majority of boat ramps we use have been concreted over so traction wont be a HUGE issue

My dad doesn't like to put his car in the water when we launch our ski boat, so instead he unhooked the trailer, ties it to the car with a rope, then pushes it down the boat ramp. Then once the boat is off he drags the trailer back up the ramp (car+rope) then hooks t back up.

I know it doesn't solve your towing issue, but it certainly makes dealing with boat ramps a hell of a lot easier - regardless of the cars ride height.

You could get some airbags that fit in the coil springs to compensate for weight, so when boat is on pump them up so the back isnt down and give it height. My ute drags a bit and the ramps but I just have to pick the right part of ramp to use 60mm drop in the rear.
