It's not just an off the shelf two litre engine, it's something new that Ford have developed using direct injection and over 100 patents are pending on what they've included in it.I've tried explaining why I feel it could be a good thing but you're too caught-up in your own short sighted opinions to even bother taking any notice of facts.

I mean we get 22% off and I'm the only one who has used it, how many people on here would love $8000 of a new car? if my brother inlaws own Family don't want them it's disapointing, they have driving my FG and most have said it's a good car but don't want one. They have ecolpi and struggle to sell and they make good power for little fuel use, yeah my old man is a Expensive Daewoo nut cannot help that, I even offered to get one for him under the company and still said no and he did not have to buy it! went out and spent $60000 on a Calais V in V6 of all things. I'll try hard to convince our F&P to buy them but LG and State Gov are in love with hybrids. Even though we get smashed on resale with Prius and even worse on Civic, the politicians seem to feel better about buying them. Plus, we have to earn 'green' points. So, if Ford are going to win over the fleet market, lots of work will need to be done.

Ford talked up the EcoLPI and finally after going on sale 6 months late it has done SFA for Falcon sales.Look at Falcon monthly sales for 2012, struggling to sell 1000 units per month. I am not doubting the EcoBoost concept but I think it wont do much for sales, they might get some extra fleet sales. At the end of the day people don't like the Falcon and to be honest the FG in XT trim looks pahrking terrible and the new Mk2 is no better. The G6 looks like it is aimed at pensioners, problem for for is pensioners don't go out and buy new cars ever 2 to 3 years.

But if it's even enough to stop or slow the decline in market share then that's a good thing for all of us.The falcon has had "it's last roll of the dice" about five times over in the last decade according to all the experts. Yes it will go eventually but if that can be prolonged then good on them. Can't understand why that's seen as such a bad thing, even if it means the poor old falcon loses some of it's perceived masculinity.

I would buy one and boost it up if it was in a better body shell;)
