Its a sign of the times... look at all the Euro suv size cars with small cc turbo motors, alot of them are great to drive and have plenty of power for the average motorist.

Im sure boosting up the eco motor will give more torque and power and make it a decent drive.

My 03 XC70 is 2.5lt turbo, weighs 1900kg and keeps up with most falcon/commo cars very easilly... running 16psi in it helps it hold off alot of cars.

The ecoboost falcon isnt really my sort of thing, but its clearly marketed toward the camry type market...

The more sales Ford can pick up with new style cars, the better the chance they will continue to offer cars to the performance market...

I'd hate to see TATA's version of the F6...

I suggest everyone just drive one...

Drove a G6 EcoBoost limited edition last week, We are coming up to renewing my work car, which in the case of our work they will only accept 4 cylinders, usually diesels.

These things are fantastic! dont know what lag the magazines are reffering to but I couldnt feel any, as for seat of the pants it felt just as quick if not quicker than the Inline 6. You can notice the lighter front (felt lighter than my old Fg XRT) feels really nice in the twisty stuff even with G6 suspension & eco tyres. Granted only two of us in the car and no luggage, but I was impressed none the less. The only downside is the engine noise lacks the roar of the 6 but if you just focus on how quick it goes when you stick the boot in all is forgiven, Slow down to city commuting and the thing is just effortless.

Limited edition see's leather seats 8 inch touch screen & of course the other g6 features, fleet price with other discounts looking at sub $35k, say $141/wk over 5 years, Take that to the boss with the bonus of cheaper rego & 8L/100 fuel consumption, (this demo had about 800km on clock, average fuel was sitting at 8.8) Would make a happy boss! and a happy me when the alternative would be me sitting in a 4 cylinder hatch all day long!

If they want to sell these things, they need to get as many fleet managers as possible in these things and let them loose, infact just get as many people driving these cars as possible, they will sell themselves once driven, the 4cyl preconceptions disappear! Alongside actually marketing the things!

Is that real-world honest feedback? :gtfo2:

Yes, real world honest feedback looking at the Ecoboost for what it is supposed to be, comparing my old FG XR6 Turbo (which I did use for work as well as play), as well as taking into account my time on the road visiting clients etc.
