I can't see why people are comparing it to the commo

Form all reports, this thing goes, it's on par with a 4.0L BA 4 spd if not a bit infront, and they move ok

Sure mega gay aids 4 cyl

My motorbike has an engine almost as big, 1900cc...

But it will beat the snot out of a 3.0 Late model camira that's for sure...

Still gay, so they covered the gay engine with a piece of plastic so you don't see it's gayness....

f*ck diesels, I'd like to see a last of the line turbo falcon with some turbocharger improvements ( new fan dangled tricky type turbo) and 400kw from factory, then bam put to sleep...

So we all agree its pretty gay then lol. Personally though I disagree on the dissing of the diesel. Eurotrash car companies produce some great diesel powerplants, don't see why we're excluded. Afterall its not top secret north korean missile woops peaceful rocket technology. I would buy a smooth, powerful small TDV6 falcon over a poodle porking four banger. For a run around anyway.

You guys are miles out from what the masses are doing/thinking. If anyone wanted the falcon to continue with 6 cylinder only power, or tricked up turbos with a bazillion killer wasps, then ford wouldn't be trialling Nissan in sales and the Mazda 3 wouldn't be the best selling car in the land. The fact is the 4 cylinder is more than capable. Those that haven't driven it and yet sit here bashing it are in the same basket as the guys that said the supercharged V8 was no good.

As for fwd vs rwd, I again refer to the Mazda 3 sales.

The only reason Expensive Daewoo sells so many commodores (relative to falcon, their market has dropped massively too) is because of fleet sales, but even this is changing.

The times have changed, the goose is cooked, the horse has bolted. Some of the expectations on here are frankly laughable. Mass produced cars need to sell to the masses. But Individualistic expectations can be met-that's what our aftermarket industries are for.

^^^ here you Bunna but you've been brainwashed by the suits, lol. How long is the Miami going to last 'cause if I want to stay in a 'performance' Falcon, that may be the only offering of interest. Failing that, cross back to the dark side when VF comes out with a blower.

Well I never said the supercharged v8 would be sh*t so I dont think I'm in that bracket. The thing weighs nearly two tonnes. It requires at least 6 cylinders IMO. Even Jap cars of the same size/weight get V6's. Why not an eco boost v6 at around 3 litres? It would kill the thristy jap atmo sixes in fuel consumption figures. Why not a diesel option? The territory duramax is old hat. Why aren't ford following the french and germans with their exquisite turbo diesels? I dont think its us that have it wrong, we are the consumers, I think Ford's got it wrong. But that's just MO. Comparing Mazda 3's to a full sized family sedan is flawed logic. If they want to take that out, they need to get the mondeo and focus selling even more.

I don't know why you guys are bagging it so much?

It has more power than the 5L windsors that came out in the AU1 (approx 175kw?), more power than a 4.0L of pretty much all the nineties and early 00s (157kw)

We have an AU wagon that still hauls when need be, yeah its not the quickest car out there but its not meant to be, and neither is this 2.0L-t.

However, with some tuning and add ons, it could be a very capable car.

As a standard car, it will most likely rip a 3,0 commodore, capacity aint everything - think Miami which is a 5.0 donk compared to a 6.2 LS??

All the euro's are going small capacity also now - the S line and even the RS line audis have shrunk, the M5 motor has dropped two cylinders.

Not trying to offend any of you here, but you may need a walk up call to technology. :)

Sure technology is advancing, but a Falcon with a 4cyl. No matter what you say, how you call it, or what it will or won't do. IT JUST AIN'T RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Ford marketing dept are again demonstating their brilliant collective lack of ability and foresight. If they are keeping the 6s and the 8s, they should have changed the grille and bumpers at least changed the name of this thing. What a waste of time, this thing can't save Ford Aus because anybody who wants a 4 cyl will go Jap or Euro and get some bulid quality and half decent after purchase warranty and service. This is a last ditch effort that has come way too late. FARKING JOKE.

^^^^^Take that super charger off, would you still compare the 5.0 to the 6.2? Be lucky to even come close.

Bit off topic but aren't the 5.0 mustangs in the states running 300+ from factory

Pazzo mate, already been said but the coyote makes 300 as an N/A

Dynos have proven the 6.2L doesn't even come close.
