From another website-

The Falcon becomes the first rear-wheel-drive vehicle in the world to be equipped with an EcoBoost engine. It scores a unique tune, producing 179kW of power (at 5500rpm) and 353Nm of torque (at 2000rpm).

The EcoBoost is half the size of the standard 4.0-litre six-cylinder engine, yet trails it by just 16kW and 38Nm. The I6 engine produces 195kW (at 6000rpm) and 391Nm (at 3250rpm). Our Falcon EcoBoost prototype test drive late last year demonstrated the four-cylinder models were less than two tenths of a second slower than the I6 models (7.22 seconds vs 7.05 seconds).

Intriguingly, the Falcon XT is the only model to return the 8.1L/100km economy figure, with the G6 and G6E models officially rated at 8.5L/100km. Ford Australia says this is due to the weight differences between the specification levels.

sh*theap

But will be funy when tune only Ecoboosts are running better times than stock hsv's, this wouldn't be hard either

LOL I reckon we will se 13's easy from barley modded ones, n/a are pissing in low 14's, less weight more power and torque (once tuned) should be good... But why bother modifying cos there always the big banger that's going to be bigger meaner and scarier

This whole deal has the 'Mitsubishi 380' feel about it. Could it be the last stand for the Falcon? Is so, what a tragic end to an iconic car.

For the same reason we don't have I6's (despite the known performance potential) or anything else running around in our premier race series, is why nobody will warm to these other than maybe some fleet buyers and most of them will buy hybrids anyway, 'cause they'll think it's 'greener'. Most certainly, that's what the competition will use in their sales pitch.

I hope this works but I suspect no. Other than maybe a GS ute purchase, I think this will be my last Falcon.

Aw but it's only a teeny weeny one. Maybe he'll replace it with a raptor supercharger.

I hope when the I6 is retired that the aftermarket will keep it viable. Aftermarket blocks etc etc.
