doubt it mate, a few guys on here have gone the powerglide route or a c4

have to remember that these motors are a long stroke design so will be putting a lot more torque through the gearbox for the same hp at the engine

Personally I wouldn't bolt up a gm transission onto a ford.

Mal wood t56 or a glide. Seeing as you want mega ponies a glide would probably be better!

Looking fOrward to this build if it's gonna happen :D

I am not worried about my trans not being able to handle the power. I dont know how it is down there but the 4r70 can be built to handle well over 1,000 rwhp and same for torque. my current trans is a race spec build with almost double the number of clutches and steels, trans brake valvebody, custom built pump assembly, billet stub shaft and etc.

my main concern is the bellhousing pattern... I can get a 4r70w case with either the 3.8/302/351w pattern or the modular 4.6/5.4 pattern.

I will not run a turbo 400! they are GREAT transmissions but I wont do it to my car when I have so much in my trans setup already.

sooo.... does it share a pattern with any of the V8's or is it by itself?

Brandon, your best bet would be to email Brad at Atomic Performance in relation to any questions you have. It may be an opportunity for him also (if he hasn't already) to start up a US outlet. As you are currently working in the Modification industry this could also be an area for expansion for yourself. Cheers

Hi Brandon, there's a crazy guy on this forum called Spiro who's building a twin cam 4 litre targeting 2000hp. Also google 1TUF65 look for a 65 orange mustang with a 4 L single cam ford six on LPG running 8's.

I think he's talking about Dragins lair motor sport, they do alot of R&D on these motors and have got a lot of engine options available.

Hi Brandon, the engine block bolt pattern is unique and not comparable to either windsor, cleveland or modular engines but can be adapted to lots of different trans combinations by way of aftermarket bellhousings. There are a couple guys over here that make custom bellhousings such as Dellow and Castlemain Rod Shop.

PS 1 kw = 1.34 hp
