So off to bunnings I went to purchase some sand paper and metal polishing equipment. What I ended up purchasing was 360g, 600g and 800g sand paper (if I wasn't as lazy with the sanding, I probably would have gone up to 1200 to give a more mirror reflective surface) and also a Josco metal polishing kit which was about $30. The kit came with 2 wheels and 2 compounds, a harder wheel + cutting compound and a softer wheel + polishing compound. The whole process is fairly straight forward. Remember that with the sandpaper, you have to wet sand.Started with the 360g and worked my way around the I/C going one direction, and then going perpendicular to that grain. Think I did that about 4 times. Then worked my way up the grits and did the same process.Once I was fairly happy with the sanding, I cracked out the polishing kit. First attacking it with the harder wheel and cutting compound which I also went one way, then changed agaisnt the grain. Then hit the softer wheel and polish compound. I polished it 3 or so times I think, each time coming up better. The last layer I cracked out the car polish and went over it.In the pics you will be able to see the difference in the polished and unpolished area at the bottom of the I/CSo for someone who hasn't attempted this before, I was quite happy with the end results.Let me know what you all think!Gaz

But she's all done now, just need to figure out a time to install it.

Next time dont sand it just use a pickling fluid ie meguires chrome cleaner to bring the sh*t to the surface and give it a good polish she will come up better then new
