The head mechanic claims it could be because of the flash tune I've had done or my battery being too old. I got the flash tune performed at XFT in Midland and for 3 months after the tune I had no issues at all.I bought the car in July 2010, had the tune done in Sep 2010 and have had the same battery from the old owner.I've never had a flat battery or problems starting the car.The last time I had the codes cleared from Ford, the problem went away for a few months and then came back slowly at first(once a day) but then at increasing intervals(3 times in a 20 minute drive), I thought it was just happening while the car was cold or been parked for more than a few hours, but it has happened when it's warm in summer. It happens at low speed, suburban speeds and freeway speeds and the only way I can fix it is to turn the ignition off and on quickly( which is not ideal on the freeway or going around a corner losing power steering and brakes temporarily).Has anyone experienced this happening to them before? I know you should change your battery every 3 years or so, but I'm a tight arse and don't want to replace something that seems to be working fine with all other aspects of the car, especially since there's no guarantee it will fix the problem.Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciatedDan

I went to accelerate and there was nothing, car felt as sick as dog.I noticed the ETC light come up on the dash, so I pulled over. The car was idiling very rough, so I turned it off then back on again. Seemed to have fixed what ever was wrong, hopefully it's a one off thing.
