Hi guys

New to the forum so I didn't know where to post this but I have a 2010 xr6 6 sp AT and I want to make it turbo.

Can anyone here give me a rough idea on cost and who would be best to do the job in the Brisbane gold coast area, is it better to go brand new parts or buy a write off from auctions ?? ( though I would rather build it myself to save $ )

Thanks guys

Just sell what you have and buy the factory turbo. Resale on a conversion would be crap and a lot of hassle to do the conversion is just not worth the effort when you can probably buy a modded factory turbo for less.

I am seriously condidering a Supercharger. The SOUND is incredible...

As far as the conversion, easily done, but yeah, buying the Factory Product, ready to go would be the option.

If u wanted the Turbo.

You will want the turbo mate. I have owned both over the years as I supercharged my 6cyl AU Falcon S when they were first released and used the powerdyne kit back then, no intercooler. It had a custom 2.5in exhaust system with genie headers, adjustable electronic shift kit and with a plug in chip the car made 175rwkw on 7psi. It was a great car that once at 100km would just keep pulling hard to redline in 3rd.

The downside was that this all cost me about $7k back then and seriously lacked low down torque compared to a turbo and also made little whine being a powerdyne. The vortechs are noisier when cold but once warm with good oil flow they tend to not make much noise either unless your using the straight cut gears and not belt driven models which if you went the vortech (most probably) you will be using belt driven.

I'd personally go the Snort Performance turbo kits for bang for buck!
