  • hey I have a ba xr6 turbo running a f6 typhoon block currently make about 330rwkw on a stage 3 aps kit plus turbo actuator up grade and a short straight pipe off the turbo this is all going through a t56. I am looking to up the boost to an 18psi tune from my 14psi one I have now. I was wondering if loosing one off my aps mufflers and getting pipes bent up will help me achieve more power ? cheers

Restrictions most likely in the cat/dump section, why not mod the front end with a 4" dump pipe. Makes a big difference to spool up as opposed to just making it louder and not achieving much.

its a misconception that making things louder automatically makes them feel faster or more powerful.

I read a report on a fella modding a liberty rs years ago, he put a very well designed exhaust on his car. it was actually quieter, and therefore felt slower. but dyno proven more power, and quarter mile testing proved it was quicker too.....

if its a APS exhaust, the dump will still be stock. Change that first.

hey I am a mechanic my self and I know most things about cars this is my first xr6 turbo how ever. I plan on putting a 4" dump pipe on before the dyno because for the price why not do it. was just wondering if the mufflers had any restrictions through them

thanks

I've heard mixed opinions, RDP didn't like the middle muffle that splits from 3.5" to 2x2,5" and said It was a flow killer, others have said they ran up to 370rwkw on the full system. Do the dump, try it out and let us know because I miss the sound of my APS exhaust.

Mate if u can net close to 390kw off a stock system ( less cat ) I cant see why an aps system would hinder it, in fact we seen a BF F6 do 404rwkw on stock system ( less cat) and then an APS system installed and went 440 ish so flow is there
