ok so I put them in with standard gap and no suprise it was no good , so gapped them down to .7mm and still no good , I checked the old ones that came out of it and they were gapped to .5mm , so I just ended up putting the old ones back in and im going to ask high torque to order me in some super six plugs already gapped and right heat etc , they are tunning it on thursday so mayaswel just have them put in the right plugs for me .

a friend of mine had a blown vt commo and his were .3mm , yah I have no idea , .7 was no good for me at 16psi , will be interesting to see what power I get from high torque on 16psi , aparently the hp tunes are sh*t and they cant control boost , that's why my car had an eboost put in , so im hoping a flash tune will clean things up a bit and hoping to see 340rwkw

That gap is way too small and probably done to mask a coil problem!

HP is not sh*t, but on some strategy's in early BA's there can be boost control issues, well that was what I was told after I purchased the software, they recommended buying a third party boost controller

Jet might come across as a spanker but he knows his chit and was trying to help you and save you some troubles and coin.

what gearbox do you have?

you are cahsing a 40kw gain by changing from HP to SCT, what mods are you doing to support this?

300rwkw and 16psi sounds like a lot of boost for the power

as others have said

WRX sec plugs have been used by a few people because they come with a smaller gap

0.5mm gap is too small

stock BA xr6t plugs are 1.1mm

I dunno im just going off mods and power ratings ive seen on many other ba,s , the fella who owned this car was apparently a mechanic and im pretty sure all the mods were done by him and the tune etc, im thinking giving the car to a reputable tunner - workshop and just asking them to give it a good going over and a flash tune will be well worth the money and give me peace of mind that everything is as it should be , since I have had it I have replaced the oil and filter which was black, cleaned the pod with a recharge kit which was also black , and tried to change the plugs but as u know had a bit of trouble in that department , yah so the mechanic obviously didnt care for his car very well ,

srtange though , the mods have all been done in the last year or so - there are recipts for the intercooler etc, and the gear box was fully rebuilt with biger servos and whatever there is a recipt for 6500$ on the rebuilt gearbox that's also only a year old .
