Was thinking of wrapping the stainless steel intake pipe in this too. Cut and clamp if I can't fit in on.

Not much change. Also special foam from Jaycar with Valleys/peaks to the bottom of the airbox/battery tray. Some sound reduction but not enough. Finally removed both airbox panels entirely which just had the stainless pipe connecting the pod filter to turbo open in engine bay.Sound reduced!Had a talk to a few people (V-Sports were right on the money) and thought it was the metal pipe clamp (holding 4" Stainless intake to pod filter) rubbing/vibrating on the metal panel of the airbox as the engine moved if that makes sense.I.e. see the Plazmaman kit below.See how the hole above for the intake pipe has a rubber protector. Mine does not.Problem may be solved!Just need to fit some rubber, then flexible pastic piping around the inside of the hole and also dymat this panel too. Will be wrapping the stainless intake pipe in roof flashing tape and fibreglass heat insulation tape too just to be sure sure later. I might end up going back to the original air box on the passenger side. Will make changing the filter a lot easier. I was going to put the air box on the drivers side but not enough room :(

Mine does not.Problem may be solved!that tiny bit around the pipe wont make much difference, the noise is still coming out from everywhere where its not sealed. that's why factory air boxes are a sealed box with one intake not like the after market ones that are just a 3 sided box...but saying that the nizpro one is the same box but the thick cast intake piping doesnt make the sound so it doesnt matter what the box is like. also the rest of the piping makes a difference, alloy piping will be louder then rubber etc...at the start I made throttle body relocation and used thin wall bend off the plenum and it made more suction noise, changed to thick wall cast bend and went away...its all in the piping. make a intake out of thick plastic and it will be quiet, get some 3inch pvc bends from bunnings and try it out

The (unique to my car) scraping intake noise (far louder than the induction noise) appears to have been coming from direct metal to metal contact between the 4" clamp holding the filter onto the intake pipe, and the airbox side plate itself, with the hole. As the engine vibrates/moves, the clamp was rubbing on the side of the thin metal plated airbox. It is a unique problem to this particular airbox which does not have that rubber ring.I will be also be dynomatting this inner side airbox panel as well as wrapping the intake pipe in a few layers of Aluminium/foam insulation tape as well as fibreglass tape. Also have some high temp rubber hose which I am considering wrapping between layers of the intake pipe too.Left over dynomat may even go on the underside of my bonnet or that matt under the bonnet. I think you guys are right.I just finished dynomatting the entire airbox and fitted a rubber ring in the side airbox hole.Very optimistic on the test drive.........................but noise still there.Next step is wrapping the intake pipe in several layers of different materials.Maybe next weekend. :(
