Buy it - turbo dohc 6 and a german trans versus a (not bad) pushrod V8 and an ordinary GM automatic. If you look for the right one, both locals have fair build quality ( but not great). If you want convincing further, go drive a 2002 - 2005 model 530 BMW - they are getting down bux wise these days. You'll love the build and ride quality and smooth-as 6 in those cars but the auto doesn't shift any better than the ford on a day to day basis and the I-drive is fiddly to use. We won't mention repair costs when they happen and no room in the back. 19 versus 18's in wheels - stuff all difference really.

If you want oh-so-smooth and oh-so-quiet you buy a big honda accord. They are really great and come with a free scone, weak tea, a hat and a life time subscription to "bowls monthly."

By the turbo, get some 19's on it, two black t shirts and new levi's and enjoy a bloody great driving car.

lol - love the advice BRK :)

I've made an offer on a 2008 G6ET with 100k on the clock - $24k. Its been accepted but subject to inspection (I live in Darwin so am getting one of those vehicle inspection businesses to take a look and do a report). Its only silver but the silver seems like a nice bright silver.. and its only got 18" rims... she'll be right!

There's some lovely cars for $10k more (like the one Dillz posted) but I really didn't want to spend that much...

Probably not a good comparison but I actually had the 6sp ZF in my Discovery 3 and I loved it (although it did develop a bump going into 2nd).

So yeah hopefully the inspection doesn't turn up any nasties - not too concerned with normal wear and tear as long as its been looked after. Never owned anything like this - but I've driven my friends GS a bit and it always puts a smile on my face - apart from the hard suspension (his wife hit a pothole and he had to replace the two rims on that side!) and road noise.

Hmmm gotta get some levis now...

"gotta show 'em your meat"

That said not much to see around here LOL myself excluded of course
