Hi.

Not sure if its an input shaft at this stage. Still waiting for the boys to take a look at it. May be an intermediate shaft. Will let everyone know when I know. Yes, my input shaft is a billet one but I guess nothing is unbreakable. 10.6 was my slowest time of the night so car ran conistently all night apart from 4th gear probs.

Was about to say it could be the intermediate shaft, however these normally break in higher gears 90kph +.

Well done on the times mate, that is a fantastic result! Makes me want to pull my finger out! Lol

Get your box rebuilt with the extra clutch packs which should get rid of the flaring issues in 4th. Had the same problem with mine, however no issue now after I had it built.

Plan on getting it ZF built next and then wait for the next weakest part to go.:( Guys just remember if it is an input shaft they r only a certain circumference so there is always the chance even strengthened parts can still go bang. It's just the way it is.

From memory I think they are well under 1 grand but dont quote me on that. Possum could probably help. Reasonably aggressive ZF tune from 1st to 2nd change so I'm sure this would have contributed some what. May have to back off the line pressure or something. I personally think the ZF tune software still needs heaps of refinement. I'm confident Nizpro will get it sorted for me.

Quote from Possum in another thread:

"Just to add, the billet input shaft is an exchange item (broken/non broken) as we machine out the old shaft and re-weld the new billet shaft into the clutch drum (using a jig to ensure its aligned properly).

There are just under 40 billet input shafts in cars to this day with no failures"

On that day we hadn't seen any failures, as of the weekend just gone we now have one failure.

Without very extensive reworking of the ZF internals the direct replacement shaft we offer is limited in physical size.

Now that one has broken we now have an area to focus on further development of our product/new products

Along with the addition of the ZF tuning software there are many more variables we need to fine tune/figure out to ensure longevity and performance

If anybody has any questions in regards to this please pm me so we do not clog up Steves thread :-)
