One way to test if its all (quality) leather is to get a lighter or a striked match to the leather to see if it burns. Aftre holding it there for a couple of seconds, if the supposed leather is real, it wont burn, but if its vinyl or imatation it will bubble.CheersClay

If it does bubble, what are they going to say.......Seriously though - I went for custom leather that the dealer offered as an option. It is by Blackmans in Melbourne and the fit is perfect and it only took one day to have fitted. They also offer the leather in all the colours of the XR so I went for the phantom for the middle seat panels and the charcoal grey for the outers. Door inserts etc are phantom. It looks much better than the chux cloth that comes standard. $2700 was the damage, and no, I won't be holding a cigarette lighter to it.

Blackmans don't have a website up yet of their products but it is coming. I know they work out of Melb and Syd.

The seat inserts are done in perforated leather (similar to the original Ford leather). The seats have grey stitching with XR stitched in grey and Turbo in red underneath it. The door panels are also Charcoal. This also only takes a day to fit.

Naturally I ordered the custom leather at the time of ordering the car and seeing that Mr Ford took 3.5 months to build my car, they could have grown the damn cow in that time. So when the car was ready, so was the leatherwork. All they had to do was rip out the chux standard interior and slide on the new.Your red and grey sounds good!
