Now that I got photbucket working again, this is just another pic to demonstrate that vision is no issue.

Also to show off my half arsed FG1 dash mat.

haha yeah dont think I'll be visiting them in person, hopefully I can just send them the icc cover for them to mount the guages to and I'll take care of the rest.

definately liking the dash mat idea there too

The fg gauge holders on top would annoy me to no end in a long trip even though they look pretty. They do sit too high in my opinion in line of sight and at 297 dollars with the extra hour of work before you even run wires Id never have them. Then having to run wires down the back of icc and buckleys of getting a vacuum hose up there which doesnt kink limits your choices. This is why I invented the gauge and accessory holder replacing the tissue box and allows plenty of room for hoses wiring and customisable to fit different size gauges and or started button cb radio etc . It takes 20 to 30 seconds to install and unlike some tissue box modded ones I have seen you are not limited by dimensions of tissue box holder allowing quicker wiring and easier fitment of gauges. At 195 it will save you money and time making it the smart mans choice

@ boganspeed vision isnt an issue because your photo is taken from a higher point than the drivers height actually seems from mirror height from farther back. Your photo is misleading.Looks like you are standing up taking the photo from the door. Sit in the drivers seat and take a photo from line of sight and then show the true interference. They will be directly in line of sight

Just drove the car to address Useless' comments because, tbh. It's never occurred to me that the gauges would be in the way, and for good reason. They aren't.

Seat all the way down and almost all the way back. I'm 6'2".

I can see the bonnet over the top of all the gauges except for the one on the very left and that's only just above the bonnet line.

So no, the vision is in no way impaired. The rear view mirror is 100x more of a vision impairment than my gauges.

Maybe if you were 5' high, in which case, get a cushion, or a corolla.

You invented a gauge and acc holder! So say I am racing around a track how do I keep an eye on gauges when they are down at my knee hight?

I can see both sides of veiw, What I found with top mount gauges is that say you are driving during the day, depending on your window tint or how much light is reflecting of the gauges it is hard to see anyway, having a transparent background behind them which is forever changing as you drive I found it made them quite difficult to read for example say you are driving around some mountains with nothing but tree's behind the gauges, there alot harder to read and see. At night, different story they are in a perfect spot and everything around is black behind them so vision is not an Issue

On the other hand, the low mount gauges have no distraction's around them in terms of background movement or lights, they get minimal distortion from the sun and by having a plain surface behind them ( Normally Dark ) It makes for alot easier veiwing day or night.

I can't speculate on the tissue box replacement ones but the reason I went down the path of making my own is so I could angle them in and upwards towards the driver, although making 3 fit was not going to work :f*ckyou:

why is everyone sooking about the placement of gauges.

there are heaps of modded xr's out there with no guages at all.

when your driving flat stick your not looking at your guages. its more of a quick glance. and if your racing on a track, the time to look at them is on the straight. who gives a sh*t where they are.
