hi guys

I am looking at upgrading my BF foon headlights to HID lights. Ive read the couple of threads about them here however still stuck on one thing.

What im after is a complete globe convert kit so I can keep the factory headlight units - low beam, high beam plus fog lights...looking at the 6000k as these apparently are best for driving.

Does anybody know where to buy the complete kit and also is it easy to install??? I know on ebay there are alot of choices however I want to make sure Im not buying a crap set :)

Hey mate there is a guy here in melbourne a few of us have dealt with, he has budget HID's which I have in my car and they seem pretty good. I am not sure of his ebay info but I can PM you his details if you like, postage could be killer to new zealand though.

That huge HID thread has all the info you really want. Id probably get normal globes for the high beam only light as HIDs are not designed for quick on/off operation so they would be fine for fog and the H4 position with hi/lo but prob get some philips diamond vision 6000k for the H7.

I too am going to look at doing the fog and H4 at some point.

Good point about the high beam....I dont use high beam that much....thinking of it now high beam on falcons isnt too bad its just the low beam I find to be average...

I have no idea what h4 and h7 is about though...what does it even mean??? newbie question lol

Most of the listings on ebay are for 1 set of lights (Hi/Lo [H4], High Beam [H7] or Fog [H11]) + the ballasts and everything you'll need to install.

I'm also looking at ordering some very soon, from what I've been they are generally 80-100 $ for each set of lights (H4,H7,H11).

As many here have said, I'll probably just go with the 6000k 35w slim ballast Hi/Lo (h4) for now, maybe get the fog lights later on.

They mostly come with either 55w and 35w ballasts. IMO the 35w is the way to go, mainly because it is still very bright, but I still want to be cautious of annoying every other motorist. The 35w is also a smaller ballast (easier to fit) and more energy efficient.

For extra effect I recommend getting some of the LED H10 parker lights which you can use for the interior, number plates, parker lights etc etc. You should find some good links for them in the HID thread.

Hope this has helped, anyone feel free to correct me on anything as I don't physically own HID light's yet and am only going on what I've researched.
