Hi Guys,

Looking at getting a G6ET and test drove one on friday a late 2010 with 45000km in immaculate condition, but it was really lazy in its power delivery, actually no quicker than my BA MKII turbo. I test drove another one after that and that one went well like id expect from a FG but that one was a 2008 and I want no later than late 2009 model. Is this something that may change with me driving it harder as the owner is quite elderly or is it destined to be a slow car.

yeah I know that, Im going ask the dealer if we can reset it and then take it for a drive, as the first owner looked after it (he lives in the same street). So it would be a good buy if it wasnt a dud.

It's still not a dud, once you jump in and give it a bit, should be sweet. Plus it's nothing a custom tune won't fix. If its as good as you say jump on it, boot it and it will be ok.

Maybe it has 91ron in it and all the ecu has pulled all the timing?

that's what I was thinking, and I was holding it flat off the line without the traction control and not even a wheel squeel, tried it twice then stalled it up and nothing, the other one I drove 30mins later wheel spun with ease.

Why would the old boy :hag: buy a turbo and drive it so slow (and use the wrong fuel) so it turned into a slug? Street cred? You can wheel spin :3gears: a Kombi if you try hard enough. Surely the computer dosent retard it that much? Maybe he disconected the turbo because it scared him on the way to bowls. :biglaugh: My oldman nearly crapped himself when be booted my car.

Wouldn't surprise if the dealer put 91 in it.

Maybe request they get a service tech to have a look at it, take it for a drive. Adding you're interested in buying it but worried there is something wrong with the car.
