18's are too small for the fg in my opinion, gotta have 19's at least

19s do look good but I reckon the sidewalls are too thin so thinking of going 18s to avoid buckles

side by side they don't really look much smaller if you include the tyre

Im just wondering if theres anyone with an FG running aftermarket 18s. just want to see how an FG looks on a set of aftermarket 18s with wider tyres if possible

18's with dish = fail... especially on FG...

Maybe an XE?

nah I reckon it will work. just needs the right width, offset and tyre combo with a bit of low. im aiming for at least 285/35 with 10" rears

I found an old pic of tocchi's FG with GTR rims (18x9 with 235s) and they look alright (Matt, I hope you don't mind me reposting here for illustration purposes)

I just dont see the point in running big wheels and skinny tyres. more prone to buckling and tyres cost more

Cause it doesn't look like this..

Having said that, I think wheel choice makes more of an impact then size. For example the right 19's can look bigger then the wrong 20's.

Not sure if I'd bother with 20's again though.

Where do you live viper? I have been driving on 20's now for a month or 2, doing 800km's a week on the south gippsland and bass highways, and have found them to be fine, and have no different feel to my 19's.

You could also conceivably run a 40 or possibly 45 profile tyre on a 19 if you wanted to.
