everyones entitled to opinions but I think some are just unnecessary. its his decision what he wants to do and let him do it. its something different and obviously people dont like seeing something different. change=good imo. I say go for it mate, dont let a couple of clowns on here stop ya :spoton:

With stupid

Haters gunna hate.

Masterbaters gunna masterbate.

Just do it man. If you can get massive slicks under it then its win.

Traction will be your only problem. Solve that and axle tramp will be no issue.

sure people can do whateva they want, but I think there comes a point when every single person says it looks sh*t that you have to stand back and ask yourself am I mentally ill

yeah the idea is there, make it light go faster, but there are other things to consider. some times weight in the right spot can help you go faster, slicks arnt always the answer either, with a crap rear end and massive grip you will still tramp, its the springs loading up then reaching there max point then releasing there energy that makes tramp...make the tray a bit longer and will look sweet, alloy is light even making it a extra half meter longer wont add much weight...more weight behind the wheels will aid with weight transfer and give more grip to the rear when you launch

On the weight side of things mine at the dump got 1850kg empty so your 1900 isnt far off. Im not a fan of the look you've made but its your ute you can do what ya want, I hope you acheive the expected desire with it.

what specs? I had 20s and 2x12inch subs in boxes behind the seats so that makes up 50kg in just the subs/amp...

1780kg sounds light if he had a towbar etc...

As in the photo and my sig. So its kinda standard in the sense for weight IMO. Its all ford stuff. The sports bars weigh absolutely bugger all.

EDIT: I have a towbar, interior std.

my ute must just be the larger side of life;)

I was looking at a alloy tray we got at work on a new truck, its the tongue and grove type of stuff, surely that would be better then a frame and sheet and prob still light as hell. (its just what every alloy tray is made from)

anyone know if that stuff can be brought just on its own? all this talk about light weight and alloy has made me consider going alloy tray now, I was going to build steel frame with wood but alloy could be easier
