I went with the 300 centres and the 50 wide steel RHS to give the lighter checker some support. My main concern is not load carrying capacity but support if someone jumps up on it. No chance of it dinting. Honestly I dont think 2.5mm will be up to it for very long. See how ya go, if its only screwed down you can always change it if it starts sagging between cross pieces. If I go to the heavier checkerplate, I can cut down on the number of supports which, at 50 x 25 x 3, are quite heavy. How much up travel room do you leave for your guards?
