so tray must be a lot narrower than the cabin?

spacing on my rhs is about 450mm centres from memory, but mine are steel and I used 6mm checkerplate.

your gunna have to treat that 2.5mm checker pretty carefully, will buckle just from walking on it.

Yeah tray is only 1500 wide. I went with the 300 centres and the 50 wide steel RHS to give the lighter checker some support. My main concern is not load carrying capacity but support if someone jumps up on it. So you could stand on the 6mm checkerplate in the middle of it's 450 span?

I can jump up n down on mine. No chance of it dinting.

Honestly I dont think 2.5mm will be up to it for very long. See how ya go, if its only screwed down you can always change it if it starts sagging between cross pieces. I see light weight seems to be your priority.

I might redo it. If I go to the heavier checkerplate, I can cut down on the number of supports which, at 50 x 25 x 3, are quite heavy. How much up travel room do you leave for your guards?

Tried walking on the tray today and it seems quite strong especially seeing though the checkerplate isn't screwed/bolted down yet

Continued work on the guards

so what is the deal with wanting to make this "super light weight tray"?

is it just for a fun experiment or are you really trying to save some weight to kick the rear? lol
