Hi,

Having only just purchased a BA XR6 Turbo (my first ever turbo car) It feels like the turbo is ultra quiet, like basically inaudible. When I give it some power and then back off there is no flutter or any sort of sound as such. What should I expect? Is there any other owners nearby to Lidcombe in Sydney who would be able to give it a once over and let me know if it all goes/sounds ok?

Regards

Nick

If it is silent in operation (more or less), then all is good. These are exceedingly refined cars and engines.

If the engines spins like a turbine at over 5000 rpm, then all is good.

If it makes a some noise for some time after a warmed up and shutdown, then all is good.

If it makes considerably more noise after a cold shutdown (start, run short time and then stop engine) then this is normal; though it is not a good idea to be doing such things.

Enjoy the car and welcome.

It's fine to cut holes in the lower part of the air box. The car will get more cold air this way and you'll get a bit more noise if you're lucky.

As if yo don't want to snap some doughies! doughies are mad!
