hi all!

My 2007 Bf manual ute (stock) makes a clunk noise as I take off in 1st, to me it sounds like the diff, not taking off flat stick, taking it easy and it only sometimes does it. Taking it to my mechanic next week, when I told him I bought the car he said " no worries ill order you a new diff now " and with all this talk of dodgy diffs kind of has me a little worried. Maybe a few suggestions on what it might be and possible solutions would be great....besides that still goes hard and is an awesome car!

And where would he put this diff bush (blue one).

Could be your exhaust hitting as the leaf springs wind up and the diff raises.

sounds like its coming from the tray/diff area! read alot about diff bushes on here and alot of people have said they spend all this $ on replacing them for no results! havent been to my mechanics place yet but ill mention these things to him! centre bearing or cv joint on the diff sound like it could be the cause.

all useful suggestions! cheers ill keep u all posted!

You have a UTE, you dont have a diff bush. What you do have is leaf springs that Noah brought over on the Ark.

I was going to suggest that, and feel happy that I was able to participate (and actually contribute something useful) in one of these threads, but after that threat Ralph I'm not going to.

Edit/ actually I think it was a bearing in the tail shaft that went on mine. Please not let that be the same thing as previously mentioned lol.

Best to just take your ute to a mechanic and get them to look at it. When mine was making those noises I was told it could be a dozen different things. Only one way to know for sure though.
