The spark plugs fire but how well I don't know.

Haven't tried to feel the injector solenoid yet. Might have to have a crack when I get home.

I just used my xcal 2 and obd2 scanner on my phone and nothing came back.

on the other turbo forum there is a post warning about the fakes staying open, we found a set supplied by an owner a few weeks back were fakes, he decided not to risk using them and get originals.

we now test any injector supplied by an owner before fitting them.

You still need to determine whether you have an injector problem or spark problem etc before replacing things

Well I'm hopefully going to find someone to test the injectors tomorrow. Also the company that I bought them off has sent me a new one free of charge so hopefully that comes soon. I still have no idea what the problem is so as soon as I rule out the injector issue I'll tow it somewhere if I'm still having trouble.

Hey Mate,

Don't mean to be the bearer of any news but that sounds exactly what happened to my car about 3 months ago. I had exactly the same symptoms and came accross that I had split the block between 1 & 2 cylinder. I thought it was injectors, head gasket, fuel, spark plugs, coils, electrics and leads. But after all that I had the engine pulled apart and about a 6cm crack (length) going down the bore. It had managed to get oil in with the water which gives the blown head gasket scenario.

Be careful with your Turbo. Once you get oil and water mixed and it goes through the lines to the turbo to cool it, the water evaporates in the hot turbo and fries the bearing in the turbo.

That's what happened to me :( new turbo, new block. Nasty stuff. Sorry for the bad news I hope it's not that.

Give me a PM and I can ring you and discuss more if you want

Im not really ruling anything out at the moment but I am hoping for the best. If I have to go that far I doubt I'll build a motor for it. I'll see how I go with injectors tomorrow and if I have no luck then I'll shoot you a pm.

Cheers Michael.

If it is the injectors that started the problem I wouldnt be using them again even if they sent you a full set.Where did you buy these injectors from or who, U might save others alot of heartache.

I'm gonna need all the luck I can get. No luck with injector joints today so I'll have to wait till Monday. The injectors are off ebay and there are a lot of places that had them not just the one I bought from. My cousin also had a set. They look like genuine ones but don't have any numbers stamped on them. If I find out it's them and I get the car running I'll just get a new set and a retune.

Just got my injectors checked and one of them was jammed open so that was most likely the cause of my. My free replacement injector just rocked up so I can drive for a couple of days till my new genuine set rocks up.

Does anyone know whether I'd need a re-tune going from the fake to genuine injectors?

yes you will as what we have seen with the fake ones we tested was they had difference in coil resistance and also fuel flow, you should only need fuel injector data changed though most likely
