Unfortunately due to the fact that the H/D gooseneck is so big and square, a hole like that will be needed so it fits through the bumper bar without fouling anything. There is no "neat and tidy" way of doing this. Im sure FORDTECH will agree with me here....

But if you are not happy, take it back. At the end of the day the customer is always right. :o

FORDTECH told me whatever you do get a factory fit towbar. Much neater than the dealer fit jobbie. And he was right! :smilielol:

I'd like to see the factory fit for the heavy duty towbar as opposed to my dealer fit. Check out this closer pic. Any comments ?

I am planning on taking it back into the dealer at my 15k service but what can be done ?? I am still trying to follow my "little SS plate cover" but that may look dodgy also. I look at the rear of my ute and love it all but the huge black hole smack in the middle of the rear skirt.

Even if the cutout was "finished" off better with rounded edges and painted to match instead of the sheer cut.

My only big gripe with my car so I count myself lucky.

Basher - that's appalling!

One thing you might like to try is black rubber moulding edging which you can get at Clark rubber or similar which should make it look a lot neater - I've used this edging to mask a poor paint job on a motorcycle tank and at least this would cover the unpainted edge.

I think you could also get some chrome similar edging from a car accessory shop which might look ok.

Can you guys get me some pics of your install ? Be it factory or dealer so I can know where to start with this ? I am not very happy with it but am unsure how it "should" look.

Thanks for the idea hammer007 - I will def. look at that if I am left with this crappy hole :/ Not happy...
