Yes and I ran mine inside the car then into the boot and earthed it at the boot and in the engine bay where the existing cable was near the battery

I just bought a battery box it had a vent hole in the lid of the box there is no need to vent the box outside the boot just inside the boot is fine I've had mine in there for over 2 years and never had a problem

Lol I doubt gas could build up that much and blow up plus your boot is not air tight I would get out and if the battery is bolted down and in a enclosed box in the boot it is legal I've been pulled over and had my boot checked by police before and they have never said a thing

When you run the power cable to the starter motor how does the battery stay charged? Is the alternator in loop with the starter motor?

Or could you just join the cable to your existing positive terminal as I have a amp cable aswell?

Personally I'd mount a twin post in the bay connect the original power wire to that bridging to a 0gauge on the other post all the way to the boot.

You may be able to get away with 4ga.. But bigger is better :P.

Split loom and tape your cable! Can't stress that enough. When I was working with car stereos saw many damaged complements due to people not protecting the power cables!
