mine crunches in 5th, but I still want a manual.

If I have a stroke and can't move the left side of my body, I'll get a auto.

I can see your point Ken. The throw on the manual would make it hard to use if you had a limp wrist....

My ute is a manual, but don't forget, the AUTO APS ute is running low 11's down the quarter...................

And, IMHO, the manual box in these things are absolute sh!t. Mine is making noises and is very recalcitrant to gear changes (ie, does not want to conform - especially when cold). 260kw's ATW shouldn't hurt it.............. heh heh...... :)

You manual f*ckers are a nuisance to be behind at the lights. Those with grunt don't need a flare pedal to feel cool. I'd say most of you choose it for better fuel economy.

Ken you are wild. 3 pedals, 5 speeds & traction control ON, insane man.

When I went to the dealer I had the choice of drving out that day with an auto or waiting two weeks for a manual.

I nearly took the auto and would have been happy with it for the first 6 months, then the boredom would have set it.

My last XR6 was a manual (as was most of my cars), it's the same box so I'm used to it.

Yes the clutch is heavy, yes ithe gearbox is a pig until it warms up and yes, Sydney traffic ensures that I have weightlifter legs but when you get on the Old Pacific Hwy or Bells line of Road, nothing is better.

plonky> your Mustang has a T45. It is not quite as heavy as the TR3650, both in weight and torque handling capacity. It is actually only very marginally stronger than a T5. BTW what is the weight of the Mustang according to your handbook?

ktford> I'm guessing you've never been behind me at the lights - 'cos that's exactly where you'd always be - and well back too after a short blast

Economy? What's that? I bought a manual for performance.

Goddammitt, even that cardigan clad bowler hat wearing old man drives a manual
