As soon as it gets to 140kms it spits and loses all its grunt...it's only recently been doing this (last 2 weeks or so), sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesn't. The only modifications I have are a straight through cat, centre muffler removed and K&N air filter. It already had these and was running fine, so I'm wondering if it is a fuel issue? Or whether it could be boost spiking (although I would think that if this was the issue it would be doing it throughout the rev range regardless of speed). It only ever does it at 140kms. Does anybody have an clue as to what the issue may be?Cheers Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/79258-power-lost-at-100kms/ Share on other sites

And dont go boosting it until you do or you might find a hole in the side of your block like a guy I know and his seemed fine for a few weeks as well until bang. Do you think it's strange that it only happens at 140kms or when it changes into 3rd gear? Appreciate the advice!Cheers Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/79258-power-lost-at-100kms/#findComment-1208425 Share on other sites

He didnt relise it was running so lean but his would go into limp mode occasionally with over boost. I know the valve springs are very temperamental in the BAs, I just read a similar thread to what mine's doing and it seems like it could be the coil packs. Only because my car had these modifications on it before and the car was running fine, it's only recently started playing up. I still think I'll get the Xcal, my car already has the Earl's turbo oil feed on it! The first owner must have learnt this lesson because I think the turbo has been replaced on it at some stage, the coil packs have never been replaced though and it's done 160,000kms. Also, do you know what colour the standard injectors are on a XR6T?Cheers Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/79258-power-lost-at-100kms/#findComment-1209626 Share on other sites
