There are several reasons why I want the I6. I have wanted one since I knew it existed, and the dare to be different aspect of it. Over here People just assume that every fast car has a v8 in it. this car had an i6 in it stock and I swapped in a v8 it was a blast to drive, the new coyote 5.0s are amazing engines, abundant over here and would wind up costing close to the same. I just think it would be awesome to have a blisteringly fast mustang that was quiet, had that beautiful i6 sound with some turbo noise, was completely different from anything anyone over here has, and most importantly all ford. The fab is expected

Yeah fair enough mate. And if it had a i6 in it originally then I get where you're coming from. Sounds like a fun little project. Should keep us posted with your progress for sure.

Hey all, after owning a bf xr8 for a few years, I finally took an fg xr6 turbo for a drive and fall in love. Went home that day with a 2011 xr6t 6speed auto ute in viper. Stock standard for now but that will change in due time. She just feels so much better than the 8 in response. So much more alive. Future mods will be a few supportive mods like injectors and an upgraded auto cooler/heat exchanger (probably from PWR), a tune, upgraded intake, exhaust, intercooler and associated piping to start off with. The main aim will be to keep the driveability and reliability up there.

Hi guys and girls,

New member to these forums, although have been lurking around for ages.

This forum seems like a very good place to learn about the XR6T's, and has been very informative thus far.

A little bit about me. Im not a dreamer that's 'gunna' do everything to their car, and not new to the car scene and have no idea. Im realistic.

Had a heap of cars over the past 20 years or so, with the last few being GT Liberty (170awkw) and a VZ SS (270rwkw) and an XT Forester.

Dont hang around the huge meet ups much now, but still interested in the cars.

In the next few months I will be getting an FG (09-11) XR6T, and in the process of organising mods to the car (I am impatient, and will get it done as soon as I get the car), but like any car I get I try to research as much as I can so I do the mods once.

I am planning on doing Tune (X3), injectors, intake, dump, cat, exhaust for the initial spend which will tie up the best part of 6k, and keep me happy for 12 months or so. Im not into tacky mods or crappy wheels etc, just a nice tough streeter. Im also looking at Spiro at Autotech to do all the work and tuning on it.

I live in the Hills area of Sydney and would like to catch up with anyone that has a FG XR6T with the above or similar mods. As I said Im new to the XR6T's so I want to look at as many as I can so I get an idea of what can be done, and what I want to do. I have read so many threads of this exhaust/intake is good, bad etc, I want to hear them for myself and see what I want to get.

If there is any people willing to catch up around this way, I would be more than happy to come and say gday and grab a coffee.

If you would prefer to PM, feel free.

Thanks, and look forward to posting more on this forum.

^^ besides a bit of down time every now and then while the guys do maintenence or updates, or when the server is doing its auto backup ( ususlly around midnight ), I have found this forum and 'most' of its members to have the correct answer - whether I like that answer or not - on the first try as well.

Glad you're enjoying your time here...

I would factor in a bigger intercooler with your first round of mods too mate, as the standard cooler will hold you back. Welcome along :wavey:

Currently waiting on delivery of a white, manual, FG Mk2 Turbo. Live in the southern suburbs of Adelaide, but work in Regency Park.

Good places to learn.
