Hi everyone, good site!

I am seriously considering buying a new XR6 Turbo, 50th Anniversary edition and am just after a bit of advice.

I had never ever considered buying this sort of car before...but one thing led to another and I ending up test driving one on Friday and WOW.

Anyway, I have a few questions...hope someone can help....

Are these cars a big target for theft or vandalism or anything like that??? (I just drive a normal family sort of car now and not sure of the impact of having such a sporty car).

How do these cars go for resale in a few years time?? (I will probably lease it and sell it in 3 years time)

anything else you can say to tempt me into the XR6 turbo ??

I am not mad car fan or anything like that, just a mum looking for a new car, but this car was GREAT when I drove it and now I am trying to get my head around it all!!/

Thanks.

AB

Hi all. I think I got the last 50th Anniversary silver manual sedan in Australia. Arrived yesterday and am loving it, but still wary - this is my first big car and first rwd. Lots to get used to...

Hi Everyone,

Looking at buying either a brand new FPV F6 FG or a late 2008 model FPV F6 BF...

If anyone is selling there's let me know.

Cheers

Hi AB,

There have only been a few reports of xr6ts getting stolen on this forum, not sure if it doesnt happen often or not many people talk about it, but they are bloody good security wise.

The 50th Anniversity edition will have a good resale value due to it being a special edition, but im sure after owning it you wont want to sell it.

Good luck with the buy.

P.S Have a look on the site at what other people are paying to see if your getting a good deal

Sup y'all!

Been on this forum a while doing my research, and just yesterday laid down a deposit on a 12/2003 BA MK1 XR6T :)

Just clicked over to 100,000kms, last service saw new pads and rotors, shocks and springs and a new exhaust. Premium sound with upgraded speakers and a custom leather job with full receipts. I'm paying $17500 for it, which I think is a decent price for such low k's and good nick. I did look at the 6 speed manuals, the BA MK2, but seeing as I don't plan on breaking the 200rwkW margin I decided to save the extra 2 - 3k and settle on the 5sp.

Car suffers a minute amount of diff whine on dry steering and the front bumper sags a fair bit, but I've yet to see a B series Falcon that hasn't.

Will post pics next Saturday when I bring my new puppy home!

Tony
