Hi all

I have just joined the site and looks like my wife and I will be picking up an 05 XR6T auto with 37,000 on the clock tomorrow arvo, colour is Blaze. It's her new car and I am paying for it.

We are both die hard ford fans and currently have a EF on LPG (my car) AU2 Forte (wifes current car traded tomorrow) 66 mustang, XY GS and my bike a CBR1100XX Super Blackbird.

I have owned a swag of Fords over the years including a EB XR8, AU2 XR6, xD Fairmont Ghia with a worked 351 + so many 4 and 6cyl fords.

We live up on the hills near Richmond in NSW, a few k's from the Bells line of Rd and a few more to the Putty Rd.

Anyways look forward to posting and find out a heap of info.

Cheers

Mark

Hi Everybody, I am new to the forum. I pick up my new Fg XR6T on Monday. Trading in my BF XR8. My previous cars have been 3 x BA xr6T's, so not new to the xr turbo's but this new one sounds like ford have realy refined the inline 6 turbo donks.. The colour of my new drive is STEEL, maybe the first on forum with that colour??? Plenty of good reading on the forum, I am slowly getting through it all!! Thanks for having me ... regards, Rex

Have thrashed the brakes for the last two weeks and still no good. Any other ideas anyone? Cheers!

Hey Henry,

I hate squeeling brakes more than anything, I do about 1500-1700Km a week as well and I no how bad it feels to have to pull up next to a h**den at the lights and have noisy brakes.

SO,

To stop the squeel you have to take care of the back of the pad that touches the pistons, not the face of the pad that contacts the rotors.

Take your pads out and wipe over the back with brake clean spray, then apply to the back of the pad an anti squeel compound (spray or paste), I prefer the thick red paste.

It is very sticky almost like contact cement, cote the back of the pad and let it dry for an hour, pop them back in and no more squeeling brakes.

good luck,

Mark.

Cheers for that Mark - I wouldn't have a clue how to take the pads out, so will have to take it to someone other than a Ford dealership to do it... :) I love driving a nice bus, but I find it interesting how many people know how to perform such tasks! Is there anyone else on here who doesn't have a clue??? :)

Hi guys and girls,

My name is Anthony I'm married with two kids and I'm from melbourne SE, I own a BA 2005 MKII XR6 turbo lighting strike silver 6 speed manual. It's stock other than a 10 psi capa tune, looking at getting some afordable mods (cooler, injectors, custom tune) and cruising and chating with some melbournians. Oh yeah where can I go for a tune and how much would it cost?

Reguards Anf. :)
