Hi guys

Im new to these forums and looking into a BF2 XR6T Auto.

Are these a better model than others ?

Ive had a SS Ute before and currently own a 2003 Subaru STi, but as I have another little bubba on the way I need the boot and rear seat space for the 2 kid seats.

Whats the base going price and K's and any little things to look for when shopping around?

thanks in advance guys

welcome mate

yeh they do have some better gear than the earlier ones mainly the zf6spd and I think anything after 6/06 have slightly better engine components

you wont regret buying one ,your wallet might if you start doin stuff to it, the mod bug bites real hard with these cars

What he said , as for pricing head over to Car Sales etc and Redbook whilst are not written in stone will give you an indication of what you can get for your hard earned in terms of k's travelled etc.

Go and test drive a few stockies and then add ~ 25% for a custom tune and you will understand what everyone is on about

Best BFYB :msm: check out the sponsors forums :buttrock:

G'day Dasko... Welcome!

The BF2 Auto is probably the best base to start with other than going an F6 to be honest.

Has both the ZF 6 speed box (literally the dogs bollox, some handling over 400rwkw with no signs of any damage) and the F6 Bottom end (stronger rods and valve springs, again some holding over 400rwkw).

In terms of modding, it will be cheapest to extract good power out of an auto rather than a manual as you will not need the $1.5 - $2K for a good clutch.

Your gonna be on a great starting platform if u plan on modding. There is plenty of info on here in the tech forums and advertiser/advertiser forums to tell ya what you will need to make a certain power etc but coz you have the best package to start with. If you have $6K to spend on parts and maybe another $2-3K for labour and tuning (figures are arguable of course & power mods only) , that should see ya up & around the 350rwkw mark with headroom to move further down the track if ya want to.

In terms of what to look for when buying, just make sure its accident free & straight, it drives well etc. The BF2's are still relatively young so it shouldnt have many if any problems.

Good luck with it and let us know how ya go.

how do you try the best of both worlds... you keep a sleeper look or not? lol, if you try the best of both worlds you would end up with a rather funky looking car imo... haha. oohh imagining it now

LOL in terms of wheel choice, keeping the stock rims that came with the car and having another set that could be swaped over to take the sleeper look away, although deep pockets would be needed to accomodate the ride height etc. Definately doable but my pockets arent that deep !! :crybaby:

:banghead:

over 600hp? what much more do u want to do to her? sounds like its a bit of a weapon as it is.

It is a weapon lol I have never been thrust back into my seat as much as I was when I was in it. It's not so much about adding more power, the couple other mods I want to do (quad system, shocks/springs and a couple other engine tweaks ) will do that and prob take it just over 400rwk anyway but it's about having the faith in whats under the bonnet and under the car itself isnt just "standard".

:crybaby:

Will get pics up of the car and the engine bay as soon as I can

:bye:
