Welcome! The BF2 Auto is probably the best base to start with other than going an F6 to be honest.Has both the ZF 6 speed box (literally the dogs bollox, some handling over 400rwkw with no signs of any damage) and the F6 Bottom end (stronger rods and valve springs, again some holding over 400rwkw). In terms of modding, it will be cheapest to extract good power out of an auto rather than a manual as you will not need the $1.5 - $2K for a good clutch. Your gonna be on a great starting platform if u plan on modding. There is plenty of info on here in the tech forums and advertiser/advertiser forums to tell ya what you will need to make a certain power etc but coz you have the best package to start with. If you have $6K to spend on parts and maybe another $2-3K for labour and tuning (figures are arguable of course & power mods only) , that should see ya up & around the 350rwkw mark with headroom to move further down the track if ya want to. In terms of what to look for when buying, just make sure its accident free & straight, it drives well etc. The BF2's are still relatively young so it shouldnt have many if any problems.Good luck with it and let us know how ya go. It's not so much about adding more power, the couple other mods I want to do (quad system, shocks/springs and a couple other engine tweaks ) will do that and prob take it just over 400rwk anyway but it's about having the faith in whats under the bonnet and under the car itself isnt just "standard". Will get pics up of the car and the engine bay as soon as I can
