Thanks for the replies!

For what I have gathered just looking around, the 6 speed auto is the way to go for sure.

Another newb question but whats the servicing cost for these cars like? esp the ZF auto?

Also does the BF engine have strenghened internals?

Im from Vic and have seen a number of cheaper BF turbos going for about 25 grand! which I think is very reasonable. What do I have to look out for in particular?

There is quite a few 4 speeds running low to mid 300's but your going to need to spend a few grand on it so why not put that towards a BF ZF.

But if you want a manual don't even think about a f*cking 5 speed.

The BF's have typhoon internals as of the 6/06 as a general rule. anything after that should have the typhoon spec internals.

Generally the cars are all pretty good. with no major reliability issues even when modified. check that the car hasnt been in an accident, take it for a test drive and if it feels good then the chances are that you will have no major issues.

In the same boat and looking for a BA MkII right now. Time for my '87 Skyline Silo to have a rest! I would buy tomorrow if I could find what I want!

Unfortunately I am not finding a heap of 6sp manuals in Victoria at the moment which is a little frustrating, but patience will get me a car I am totally happy with!! (P.S. any other quality suggestions besides your usual drive and carsales sites?)

Best of luck Benji!

Sometime lurker and now new poster!

Looking for a 6sp BA MkII right now in Victoria. Hopefully going to see a couple this weekend although they are a ways away from me. But I think it may be worth it for this car! <_<

Great forums guys!

Cheers although looking at insurance premiums is a bit of a bitch! Im 24 (in a week or so) and am a rating 1 with AAMI and the premium is about 2300 untill 25 when it drops to $1200 or so

I think I could handle the large insurance for a nice powerful car :D

All I have to do now is to work out finances :(

Mate,

That's a joke...I didn't even pay that when I had a v8 on my P's...

Try Justcar or RAC insurance...That's way too expensive IMO...

Definitely go the BF with a ZF...Mate, WAYYY better. You won't be dissapointed...

I think serving won't be too $$$, just keep on top of it and service it regularly and you'll be fine.

All the best mate,

Dan
