Hi Guys,

1st post and feeling pretty stoked to have purchased a 2010 FG ute with some excellent mods and recently driving up to FNQ from Brisbane.

Having been in a stock FG previously I was kinda hooked when that thing took off, buying one with a dyno'd 500rwhp (such a nice round no.) is a blast, literally. After denying myself an earlier in life hp craving which was definitely the best idea in my case, Everything cost so much and went so slow by comparison to these rocket shiops, although I did view a pretty beat up XA GT coupe around 1983 which I passed on @$1500. 

 

Was fortunate to get one with excellent suspension mods and top of the range 20" rims and tyres, it was such a pleasurable experience. Thing just sat on the road real nice and during brief excursions to the other line, just handled so nice. It was so empowering to not have any passing anxiety whatsoever, might have created some though, but definitely not because of close calls.

 

On the subject of fuel economy (a bit off topic) Dash display suggests 8.6L/100K which is very optimistic. While I did not write down any details my calcs were roughly 12L/100KM

 

Seems it is a buyers market for these cars, people are terminal tightwads or worried about buying one which spent too much time at the skids. There's plenty of these great Australian made muscle cars around at great prices.

 

Bang for buck stops with an XR6T, keep up the great work.

Was on carsales for quite a while I think. Not sure why no one liked it enough to buy. The thing is a beast with 6 pot fronts and 4 pot back fully floating brakes, whatever that means.

They sure work real well. When I got back in my other car a 96 hilux ute, I thought the brakes had failed again having just replaced the master, but then it sunk in.

 

Those 295 x 30 x 20" Michelins fit in real nice at the back

yep, looks to be in very nice condition and well looked after and well modified :) hopefully things continue to go really well for you and your vehicle :spoton:

Cheers Keith, Checked the oil today after the long run and it was still clear and right on the line. The ZF was impeccable, couldn't be happier. When my 0600 flight was cancelled and I had to cough up $600 for the next one and hang around at the airport for a few hours and I was really sick, I was worried about having a real horror day. Very pleased the luck turned around

with the car.

Finally getting the hang of imgur.

Anyway here's the tale of the tape. Yet to confirm 14psi on stage 2 procharge GTX64 or the original turbo with a billet comp wheel , backplate and pro9 blade with flapper mod. Cost someone $2k whatever it is. Bit hard to make out on invoice. Aren't these graphs supposed to peak and fall a bit before max rpm?

Kicks in hard and early and stops quicker with the XYZ forge racing brakes.

Apparently it was a 40C degree day.

you can see on that graph that it's a fairly gradual ramped in boost tune, rather than ramping it in as fast as possible... with the way the torque comes in hard over 500 or so rpm, it'd feel really fast either way, whether it's making heaps of kW or not.

I'm real new to this, just amazing how the tuning thing works. Thanks for the enlightenment. Hopefully the ZF hangs in there. Seems there are many here putting much more into their stock ZF trannys, if I am not mistaken.

Hello,

 

I have just purchased my first Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo, 2009 FG, in Mystic Green with Manual, the previous owner did not look after it at all, the paint is not so good and a few electrical issues I have found so far, I think it has a lot of potential and I'm going to try restore it.
