When I asked the service manager at my local Ford dealership what he would do he replied "get another car.") I was thinking of getting a skyline or WRX as I like the idea of having some power to play with, but then again I need a car that will be able to tow a trailer and fit the family so it's another Ford or a Holden. Tbh I've read a lot of reviews on XR6T vs SS and I'm certainly impressed with the XR6T's ability. I can only afford 9 grand so looking at a 2002-2004 BA. Is there any chance that I can pick up one of these and not have to spend a fortune on repairs? Also is there anyway to tell if the vehicle has been thrashed or not. Some people say mods = thrashed but then others say otherwise. I'd really appreciate some advice as to what to look for. It's a nice car, completely stock, and I was surprised by the performance even though I knew they were sposed to be pretty good from what I had read.So the ute is joining an XR5 runabout and my baby which is a 69 Mustang convertible that I have rebuilt myself and is running a 347 stroker.Looking forward to having a chat and contributing where I can. I have been trying to figure out for months if I can get one to the states to drop in my 67 mustang. So any info on that would be incredibly helpful. Otherwise I'll just be lurking in the background reading up on anything I find useful. Thanks!

Otherwise I'll just be lurking in the background reading up on anything I find useful. Thanks!Welcome mate! They really are a great engine...but if you don't mind me asking, why would you opt for the turbo 6 engine for a Mustang rather than the supercharged 5L V8 Coyote motor from the GT model FG's? Or does it come down to price? Don't get me wrong, I loooooove the turbo 6...it makes me happy in the pants, but I can't help but feel a V8 belongs in a 67 Mustang and that Coyote motor is a cracker! Jaybizz Member 2 Member For: 10y 10m 2d Posted 26/02/14 12:00 PM Share Posted 26/02/14 12:00 PM (edited) There are several reasons why I want the I6. I have wanted one since I knew it existed, and the dare to be different aspect of it. Over here People just assume that every fast car has a v8 in it. this car had an i6 in it stock and I swapped in a v8 it was a blast to drive, the new coyote 5.0s are amazing engines, abundant over here and would wind up costing close to the same. I just think it would be awesome to have a blisteringly fast mustang that was quiet, had that beautiful i6 sound with some turbo noise, was completely different from anything anyone over here has, and most importantly all ford. The fab is expected ? Edited 26/02/14 12:08 PM by Jaybizz

People might disagree on the "beautiful i6 sound" though, they tend to moo a bit between 1500 and 2k RPM, at least through autos and with most exhaust systems over here. I've heard some fantastic sounding cars though, one in particular had a quad exhaust tip system on it, quite a roar under full power, not all all muffled.
