Hey Jay - the only two workshops in WA with runs on the board are Xtreme Ford Tuning (XFT) and Monsta Torque. Have not seen any strong performing Ford cars from elsewhere (at least on here or other forums). Personal experience with XFT from me, car is 188,000km young and still goes hard - modded since 100,000km! No engine troubles except for softening valve springs due to age/mods and being the stock items still :)

Read the "first mods" threads or build threads in 300/400/500rwkw sections to see what you think then call them both up and have a chat about it!

Welcome to the group dude! Also look in WA section for February cruises currently in planning.

Hi Steve, thanks for the welcome and recommendations. Got a fair idea of what I'd like to do now, looks like stage II will be the go. Will keep an eye on the WA section for upcoming cruises!

Hey everyone , thought I would join this site, for some info on mod's and stuff, and hopefully meet some other xr6t owners in Adelaide, I recently got posted here with the Army, originally from Perth .

I just bought a BA mk II ute, manual , gold (Blaze) in colour with 20" wheels makes it a pretty rough ride. Im on a bit of a budget though as my main money pit is my Triumph Daytona , but from the very little reading I've done, I've decided first things on my shopping list will be CAI, bigger intercooler , exhaust system , injectors and a tune . I've never driven a turbo car before and I have to say I was expecting to be thrown back in my seat, but my ute is pretty tame at the moment, so would like a bit more power. I read somewhere that a lot of people put FPV intercooler's in over the stock item and I've found a second hand one for sale ($100).

Is this something worth doing or should I spend a bit more coin and buy a brand new one or maybe an aftermarket one? I dont see why I would but would I need to get a tune done with the bigger cooler? I was hoping to do the CAI and cooler first then save up for a decent exhaust and tune .

Cheers Tom

Hey all, been on here for a while but thought I'd make it official.

Bought my first xr6t last weekend and love it.

06 Bf blue xr6t ute (tray back) 6spd zf, xforce stainless full exhaust ( looks like a 4" dump into high flow cat followed by twin 2.5" pipes to rear), bigger injectors ( not sure what size yet finding this out), dyno tune and re flash. Have dyno print out from old owner at 285rwkw.

From S.E.Qld, mechanic by trade specialising in vw, looking forward to learning more about my new ute, and mingling with like minded ppl.

Cheers. John. post-53809-136044240362_thumb.jpg

Not new to the forum but only modded my car yesterday. I have been following this forum for a while gathering info on what I wanted out of my

car. The work was done at BTA Motorsport and I am very happy with the result.

Before I did any power mods I had Bilstein shocks and springs installed and slightly lowered to give it a lower stance, also after J@SNOT flooding the forum with posting about diff bushes,I had them replaced with Superpro bushes.

Some advice to new comers would be to read and gather as much information as possible before diving into modding your car, it will pay off big time.

Work carried out (03 BA XR6T)

  • 60lbsDekas
  • Walbro fuelpump
  • 12psiactuator
  • Crow valve springs
  • Ported turbo
  • Turbo oil supply (Braided Line)
  • Tune
  • Full service
