disco Member 2 Member For: 12y 22d Posted 12/11/12 11:20 PM Share Posted 12/11/12 11:20 PM Thanks for the comments fella's, yes very pleased with it.Yeah I've heard P for 'Press' and for 'Pilot',then Ford calls it option 1H for pre-production.Yeah, funny it prob was well run in, but a Ford warranty history report only details a battery replaced under warranty. Assume Ford ironed out all the bugs in the first year they owned it!Funnily enough I own another FEU car and although these are known for being 'well run in' both cars are very original and show little wear.Luck of the draw I guess.Cheers,Dave.

With all my cars Ive always tried to find the lowest kms possible but it seems even more so with the XR6's as higher kms models can need major maintenance? It sounds like these things need major looking after and dont seem as robust as a V8?

I removed my own turbo which saved my bucket loads and took it to Intune Motorsport at seven hills, he seemed switched on with what he was talking about, he adjusted and fitted my new turbo actuator and done the flapper mod, all went well fitted to my car, then took it to him to do the valve springs and tune. got it back with 303kw at the wheels. the power was awesome. loved it, anyway august of this month I was on my way to work at 7am in the morning, put my boot in it a little to merge as the left lane ended then on boost my car misfired and shot a rod out the side of my block and sump. not the best feeling in the world. long story short bought another motor stripped it completely, new billet oil pump, forged I beam rods and pistons, rings, honed and decked block head service and everything else, fitted it all up got my car running again mid november drove it to another tuner I know and as he was tuning my car he seen the boost was all over the place and couldn't control it so I ended up taking my turbo off again and took it to him. found out that intune motorsports welded the turbo actuator on back to front, which inturn would have been working for a bit but as it was working worn the diaphram in the actuator and boost was massive I think it was like 38psi which was the cause of my engine failure! lesson learnt do better research before you start forking out the big bucks. after everything happened and decided to do my research better I seen all the negative feedback from intune... too late now. but now car is running all smoothly with 325.8kw/atw. at 17psi, in a few months looking for a retune aiming for 350kw
