I have since given up and slowly is getting better. Also found turning up the tunes helps too :-p. But seriously - if you haven't changed your diff oil, it's worth a go. You'd be surprised. Taking it to my mechanic mate next week who is super good at what he does and completely trustworthy......see what happens! ill let u know. my noise sounds pretty similar altho not getting worse but only had car a week! Got told there is nothing they can do....its normal, and might get better as the car wears in. I don't think they have an answer for anything in this department, my BF was the same! Took it back and they replaced the diff, clunks less, now whines like an old crow, took it back and they have ordered me another diff to replace it with again (apparently this one is no good either). Will update this once its been replaced (under warranty of course).

nitro xr6 turbo Banned 185 Member For: 13y 16d Gender: Male Location: perth wa Posted 19/05/12 04:33 PM Share Posted 19/05/12 04:33 PM mine has the same noise, only after stoping from a long high speed drive, ie. driving down the free way, slow down on the off ramp and then when crawling in 1st (auto) and under slight acceloration it makes the noise when takeing off, it sounds like a screwed c/v joint to me. its deffo speed related, not a loose tub or spare wheel. im convinced its the c/v in the tail shaft. doing my head in. couldnt see it being a bent axel, just doesnt sound like it. I can live with the squeeks in the leaf spring bushes but this is a loud knock/clunk that travels right through the car and for a ute that should be capable of carrying a big load in the back, the heavyest thing iv had in the back is a axel for my 4x4, the suspension isnt realy copeing to well by the sound of it.cheers, andy
