Lately my car has been using a fair bit of coolant.

so far I have replaced the overflow bottle, overflow bottle cap, all the hoses (genuine ford) and all hose clamps. The heater wasnt working so I did the heater mixer shaft also.

The whole system has been pressure tested twice. once which found a small leak on the upper radiator hose because the clamp wasnt tight enough and the other we took the spark plugs out to check for head gasket leaks. but it is still leaking

we found no traces of water in the cylinders (also used a micro camera). the oil has been dropped and no traces of water there either. The car has been on the hoist 3 times to check from under the car, nothing found here also.

does anybody have any ideas where it could possibly be going? My next guess would be maybe the turbo somewhere.

Yep its vaporizing and going out the exhaust probably. There is a test with colour change dye that can help.

Yep, I've had the whole dash and heater box out and checked over to make sure there was no problems.

It's at the mechanics now so they can find what the problem is.

You having the same problem mate?

They have put the system under pressure overnight so hopefully when they get in tomorrow morning there should be some signs of where it's going. I read somewhere that there is a o-ring in the water pump that gives way so maybe it might be a $3 part instead of a turbo.

What a pain in the ar$e.

Got the car back today, and the mechanic couldn't find a problem. The system was under pressure lastnight and didn't drop a bit. The turbo was checked for signs of coolant, nothing. They ran the car for an hour today to see if it was going anywhere while the motor was running and still nothing.

I'm starting to think it's playing jokes on me.

If it was going through the turbo wouldn't you smell it? Sounds strange. Did it lose any coolant at all while being tested? Was the heater left on while testing?
