Owned it for about a year and a half now. Everything ran smooth until a couple of months ago.Sometimes the car will turn over slowly then suddenly pick up to normal pace then start. Sometimes it turns off right after and sometimes it makes a loud bang, not sure where it comes from.Somtimes it will start with next to no difficulty but when in park the "P" flashes. I tried driving it once in that state but I didn't get far, felt like it was limited to 10kms an hour. Most recently I went to fill up at a petrol station on the way to work. The car started just fine at home but after I stopped, filled up and got back into the car, it had trouble starting. At first it turned over slowly then died. Then it wouldn't start. I gave it a few minutes then tried again. This time is just had a loud ticking noise coming from the engine bay and remained that way until NRMA came and jumped started my car. NRMA told me that it was my alternator and that I should get it check out. I was telling a guy at work about it and he said was there a loud ticking noise, he said it was the started motor. This is starting to happen more frequently but no one can find a problem with the car. I had it serviced the next week after the petrol station incident and they couldn't find anything wrong. Also, I get warning lights come up on my dash everynow and then. Most common is the engine light. I've had this checked out by Ford and a couple of mechanics and they all say that it's just the oxygen sensor. I have extractors and an exhaust system.Sometimes when I go over a bump or something sudden, my ABS and traction control buttons light up and stay on for a while, it varies. Traction control worked, even though the light was on.Do you think this is all tied together, or seperate problems?I searched the forum and found a bit of information that I think relates to my problem, but nothing specific.I think the problem/s could be: starter motor, battery or my computer/ecu.Anyone had any similar experience?Cheers! Usually when it was warm but occasionally when it was cold. Slow turn over was most common, it sometimes made a banging noise. I tried new batteries, extra earth strap etc. And then on a really hot day it died at shops, completely dead. Starter motor was cactus. Replaced it, no issues since. 1 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/79139-bf-mk2-xr6-starting-problems/#findComment-1204137 Share on other sites

Verrry common in falcons and territorys I did my starter yesterday 1 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/79139-bf-mk2-xr6-starting-problems/#findComment-1204451 Share on other sites
