Yes, Stonegard can be removed, all you need to do is heat up the surface with a hair dryer and peel the material back. However, eachpart can only be used once, because the process of removal woulddisfigure the material and shape. The paintwork should have no damage providing the removal instructions are followed carefully. its still a great idea...but I'd be interested to see how easily it comes off after a few years in aussie temps (40+degrees).... Guest cul08r Guests Posted 10/12/03 10:25 AM Share Posted 10/12/03 10:25 AM I dunno bout oz rental co's, but in nz when I go there, most rentals have this stuff on them. It is about 2 mm or so thick, and is quite stiff. I would agree that it could not be used again. Removing it with a hair dryer would disfigure it. Anyways, I reckon that having a visible line halfway up your bonner is just as bad as a leaf collector (plastic bonnet protector) so I won't have one. But if I lived in the country, I would go for the...Ford bonnet protector.Andrew

You're right, in certain light you can see it. Its even easier to see the line where it finishes. Good idea I suppose, but it was dear as. I think around $500 for the whole front including headlights and driving lights and number plate.. If anyone does get it, make sure its included in insurance cause if any of the parts get damaged, the coating will need to be replaced.............possibly the whole lot.Rob

Protects against stone chips. I have a few marks, albeit very small, on it now as Ive done some country driving in the car. It's covered by warranty so Im going to ask them to look at it when I have the next service. I dont have it on the bonnet, just on the light and below to protect against stone chips.
