Hey guys

Thought id been browsing through your forum enough now to join up and post up my "previous" ride :)

I recently, by recently I mean 4 months now :( sold my beloved VZ SS ute. I owned it for just on 5 years, spent wayyy to much on it ( as we all do with cars ) but was reasonably pleased with what 5 years of modifying can do!

Bought it stock as a rock from a local dealer.

Chrome definatley was not a good choice..

This was more on the money

With more power planned for the future, and not been able to throw it into corners without drifting like a noob, semi slicks and new wheels were in order

Pictures speak louder than words.. I work at Hertz Car Rentals, and there was bout 30 other cars parked in the shed that day, I however still managed to back into my own vehicle FML

After getting that f-up fixed, rear gaurds rolled, and a few other imperfections in the paint fixed, the ute was looking super clean cosmeticaly and needed some engine work desperately. After doing my research, I opted for a head and cam package through Castle Hill Exhaust in sydney.

And then this, was the final result..

Castle hill Exhaust Stage 4 Head and cam package

Custom Grind cam 230 @112lsa

CNC shaved and ported heads

25% Underdriven pulley

Valve springs & Pushrods

402.6RWHP or 300.1RWKW tuned by CHE on 98 pump fuel.

I sold my ute for a few different reason's, but mainly because once you get the power bug you want more :)

I could see my ute going no where without throwing another 10g into a decent turbo set up. So I cut my loses, and decided it was time to move on..

I have since been in the market for a *cringing to say it* FORD

I have my eye set on a FPV F6 FG? Or a decent XR6T ute..

Look forward to reading through more threads, gaining more knowlege on these rocket ford engine's haha and meeting some new car enthusiasts!

oh I also ride road bikes to :)

I also have a secret love for that lumpy Expensive Daewoo 8 ;)

Always was a Expensive Daewoo V8 man, that's what I'd be driving now if I hadn't seen the light!

You won't be disappointed with an FG Turbo, so much quicker and "wow" to drive than a lazy 8!, plus you have to turbo/super/stroke a Expensive Daewoo 8 to even keep up!

Also, how did those Falken 615's go ? Street and strip wise?

Look forward to seeing what you end up choosing, keep us posted :)

Many of us where Expensive Daewoo V8 lovers so you're not the Lone Ranger there. Welcome aboard, and you can't go wrong with the FG F6. Also a quick question, surely you would have done the lifters also in the L76, Cheers

Think of how much it would of cost to get the SS to 300, would be under a grand to get the F6 to 300..

Welcome to the forum.

Yea im glad I decided to make the shift when I did :)

The 615's were superb. In the dry they were unreal for handling and breaking, and under throttle there was minimal loss of traction. (once they had decent heat in them) Only downside, was the rear's didnt last more than 5000km's due to camber wear mostly. There a super soft tyre, but the sidewall is still fairly stiff so you dont get the floaty feeling like most other soft compound tyres.

Yea, forgot a few things in that list, lifter's been one of them! I Can now see why I have seen so many Expensive Daewoo lovers jump ship to the ford wagon

Welcome,

The f6 is allot of fun, I have had allot of SS utes all with work done. But they don't come close to the f6 I have now. I only have a tune and dump pipe done and it makes 311rwkw. The only thing you will miss is the exhaust note. However the turbo noise is really starting to grow on me, I think mainly because once you here the turbo you know you are in for some fun.

Are you looking manual or auto?
