After some info on thes rims, after contacting local tire joints in Adelaide I have been led to believe the 19" version of these will not clear the brembo brakes on my phoon, where is the 20" will. Unfortunatly I have huge doubts as to whether 20s will fit on my car as it is dumped to all hell ( dont know what springs) and the 19"s only just clear as is ( currently running standard phoon rims, not the twisties or the Dark Argens).

Just wondering what are my options here on getting these rims fitted to my car as I NEED THESE RIMS. :)

they come in the followingg sizes

19x8.5

19.9.5

19x10.5

now unfortunately I have no idea what any of these numbers mean except the first number is the size of the rim!

Is it a bad idea to put spacers on a car that you regularly give a hiding? will it affect any other mechanical aspects of the car. Will tyres for these rims be any different than that of a normal 19" rim?

thanks

You would definitely want to test fit. I know vertini McLaren will fit 20 x 8.5 +36 and 20 x 10 +42. Maybe the supplier can take measurements of the McLaren. We got ours from Ozzy Tyres. It would be better to stay with a 9.5 as a 10.5 will rub and be a hasle. 19 would be better than 20s. Just get the tyre shop to order them in a test fit. You may have to run +30 on the front. When they test fit they start with say a +36 and then keep adding spacers until it clears. Then if it doesnt stick out to far or rub , you just take the spacer width away from the offset and that's what you order. EASY.

5 x 114.3 is the bolt pattern

Below is the offsets and sizes availiable.

wow you just threw alot of numbers at me!!!

very much confused ...

but from what ive taken out of what you said is that I need to order in a set of 19"x 9.5, 5/114.3 35 as a test kit?

by your calculations should these fit on my car? will the spacer affect anythig? im guessing these are not legal

Try 19 x 8.5 +35 and 19 x 9.5 +35. The back will fit but the front may touch the caliper. you could run a 3 or 5mm spacer , but they are illegal. Get the tyre shop to get them in for you to try. Try wheelworx. or adelaide tyrepower

no tyre shop will get these rims in just to try...

Buy 19X9 +20 front... then if you need too, shave 5 mm off the offset to make them +25... They will clear Brembos... Run 245/35/19s and the stretch will allow them to fit fine...

Buy 19X9.5 +35 rears... 285/30/19s will be perfect...

Dont Ozzy tyres have drift. I was thinking of getting vertini savari and ozzy got then in for me to try. And 5mm is not a shave. A wheel hub is made a certain thickness with the wheel nuts recessed to give a certain cross section to bolt to. Reducing it by 5mm may dramatically reduce the structural strength of the wheel. If a wheel failed it would be an insurance nightmare. And I know as I have been asked by insurance companies to asses wheels before.

I think at the moment wheelworx do not have them in stock in adelaide> and if they do its only in 20". And unfortuntely their is no Ozzytyres in SA.

Im not keen on shaving anythnig on my car!!! I might go down to wheelworx and explaint he situation and see what we can work out!

I checked with vertini... Would be fine to take 5mm off their +20 as they have a very thick wall between hub and nut... I was going to do this before I sold mine
