Never had any say Panda I <3 Floods Silver Donating Members 11,198 Member For: 13y 5m 29d Gender: Male Location: South West QLD Posted 27/02/12 11:12 AM Share Posted 27/02/12 11:12 AM (edited) I've never dealt with a private purchase of a car before so I have a question.. If the car is under finance (as many cars are) and part of the sale amount should go straight to the finance company, should you as the purchaser pay that portion directly to the finance company or is the sellers responsibility to handle that?Oh and congrats on the purchase max!! Vicroads no longer offer the vehicle check for encumberance, written off or stolen vehicles. They now direct you to another site that charges you to find out that information. :/I did ask the seller and he said that its fully paid for so I guess I have to take his word.Fark that! Very bad move, there is a website that does it. Costs about $60 and they email it to you instantly. You would be mad not too.Says first to register, everything owing on the car, written off, auto or manual, colour, etcThink it helps a bit too in court if something goes wrong. I went through the PPSR website (which VicRoads lists on their website) and paid $3.70 for it.The stupid thing is, they have to send you an instruction sheet to read the report. :S

As a reference a mate of mine just sold an imaculate Ba2 manual with 70k on the clock for 16.5k in rapid yellow.

At that price you can afford to replace allot of the perishables and still come out on top.

I'd factor in the cost of getting all the bushes replaced, all suspension replaced and new disks and pads. Maybe even a clutch.
