OK guys, I have a APS Phase I kit being installed on Thursday 18th Dec. How many of you guys have currently got the Phase I kit fitted without any other mods? If anyone has any experience with this kit ( with this chip... ) then any comments or feedback are greatly welcome.

I know that this subject has been done before but I am looking for fresh comments and feedback...or the same stories told again....

Thanks

CJL

I'm thinking seriously of getting this done as well, but I'd be more interested on how Ford react to the phase one being fitted in regards to warranty and servicing.

I was also told last night by a Ford salesmanager that Ford have asked their mechanics to photograph any non factory exhaust system fitted to the XR6T when the cars come in for servicing.

It appears that they are happy with cat back but any other changes ie. cat and manifold, they are very interested in.

There goes my plans for phase two!

 Formaz did a real nice BLACK T on Monday, stage one only, no other mods. I saw the dyno chart, it made 278 at the flywheel. If you want to get more fit an entire XR8 airbox with a high flow filter, that should get you to around 290kW at the engine. The trick with the UNICHIP seems to be finding someone who can tune it in well, do the other mods before the chip so that it gets tuned in accordingly, cost all up around $350. Good luck, it is worth it.

:o If you change the rear & centre muffler to twin 2.5s, your car will make 350kW. There seems to be much confusion re fuel pumps, cats etc. I'm getting 330kW at the motor with a standard cat and fuel pump. You just need to find a workshop that is happy with a sensible profit margin, not just plain greedy :kissmy:

:smilielol: I can't see FMC forking out to buy every dealership a camera. Now Really. Question how does a new car salesman become a sales manager? Answer by telling the best stories! that's how. :hag:

Sounds excellent..... the 350kw is this only with the exhaust mod or is this in addition to the Phase 1 and XR8 air box ?

Also, what sort of cost would the exhaust mods cost ?

;) Hi Daniel

Mate it's with the xr airbox, UNICHIP etc. What I should have said was that the exhaust and fuel delivery system are capable of flowing 350kW. But the injectors will run out of capacity at about 290kW and the valve springs at abround 340 kW, there goes another $1600 to rectify those two significant issues. I'm making 330 kW at the engine now and have the car booked in for 12th Jan for intercooler, engine oil cooler, stronger valve springs, fuel pump etc. another $3000. Should get 400 kW. That will make the bank managers bum pucker :blush:

 I've spoken to 3 Ford service managers about the mod's that we can do to XR-6T or XR8 and keep new car warranty ,They will not be void as long as the mod's fitted was not a direct cause to a warranty claim.

Ford seem to be very good regarding the idea of any mod's we were doing. :pinch: Time will tell.
